Mark Weston founded Weston Legal at the end of 2023, after many years as Head of the Commercial, Technology and IP Team in London at Hill Dickinson LLP.
He is a solicitor and he and his team advise on commercial contracts, business law, technology law, intellectual property, media, data protection, privacy, AML and MLRO issues, financial crime, regulatory compliance and digital business.
Weston Legal advises on distribution, agency, franchising, sales and marketing arrangements, software development, licensing, maintenance and distribution, SaaS and cloud services, ecommerce, online platforms, outsourcing, advertising law, content exploitation, social networks, gaming platforms, AI, fintech, payments, cryptoassets and emerging technologies.
Mark also advises on commercial and technology disputes and has a specialist niche practice in professional regulatory defence. His experience includes work for clients such as RTL, Elstree Film Studios, the BBC, goop, Wagestream, Rayware, Ozone, Moneynetint and Monek.
He has appeared regularly on Sky and BBC TV as a legal expert, has authored leading legal texts and articles on commercial, technology, media and IP law, has lectured on commercial, IP, IT and media law, and has advised US clients on UK and European IT and ecommerce law.
